TALK DOG
Dogs are not born understanding the language of the country in which they live. Words have little meaning to dogs, except in the manner in which they are expressed and the associated actions that accompany the word.
Dogs are extremely sensitive to other methods of communication such as body language and posture and the tone of our voice . We can learn volumes about how to communicate with dogs by watching other dogs together. Dogs clearly communicate with other dogs messages such as “lets play”, “stop that now”, “better watch out”, “I’m tired and don’t want to play anymore”.
Trying to explain to your puppy why he shouldn’t chew your fingers (or ears, or hair) is unlikely to be as effective as teaching him to bite softly and gently (bite inhibition) as his mother would have done.
The good news is dog language is easy to learn. Dogs make the most wonderful teachers.
